Community Organizers Collaborate To Create Rock The Vote: Voter Registration Drive

LAWTON, Okla. – Sept. 17, 2020 —

WHAT:          The City of Lawton, Women That Vote Arts Corporation, Young Professionals of Lawton, Brandinc PR, and a host of other local organizations, are partnering to create Rock The Vote: Voter Registration Drive on Saturday, September 26th at Patterson Community Center in Lawton. Following the National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 22nd, the community organizers planned to encourage residents to complete registration and census response. In addition to information booths, voter registration forms, absentee ballots, and census completion information will be available.

WHEN:         September 26th; 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m.

COST:          Free to attend; Registration required

Light Refreshments will be served and sponsored by Nene’s Bath & Body Scrubs. All safety measures, social distancing and makes requirements will be maintained in accordance to City mandates and ordinances.

WHAT:          The Lawton Improv Theater is set to present the first Red River Comedy Show featuring stand-up comics, improvisers and other comedians during a two-day weekend event. Included on the comedic roster are Lenny Vanhorn, Amanda Kerri, Julie Drake, Adrian Corwin and the Lawton Improv Theater’s Bro Show. Guests can expect a night of great entertainment and laugher—all while social distancing and additional attentive measures to ensure a safe, outdoor event.

Young Professionals of Lawton Announce 3rd Annual Night Golf Tournament in Lawton

LAWTON, Okla. – Sept. 13, 2020 – PRLog — The Young Professionals of Lawton are proud to announce the upcoming 3rd Annual Night Golf Tournament on Friday, September 25th at the Lawton Municipal Golf Course. This annual event, hosted by the Young Professionals of Lawton, provides an opportunity for business leaders and residents in the area to enjoy an event that fosters a sense of community and togetherness – while raising funds for the organization.

The Night Golf Scramble will consist of two person teams to play the first half during the evening, a break for dinner, then we will finish the evening with 9-holes of night golf. Contributions towards the event  helps to support the organization’s programs and services through the year.

“In our 3rd year of hosting our annual fundraising event, we could not have anticipated the impact of the COVID19 pandemic”, said Albert Rivas, Board Chair of the Young Professionals of Lawton. “Fortunately, with the support of our community and avid golf fans, we are able to create a safe and enjoyable event”.
